Our Story

In 1869, First Baptist Church of Sherman, TX was established, planting seeds of faith in a growing Texas town. From those seeds, First Baptist planted a mission in the growing Fairview community. The mission church conducted its first worship service in May 1947, and officially organized as Fairview Baptist Church on February 11, 1951. First Baptist Church’s faithfulness to plant gospel seeds around Sherman resulted in Fairview being planted. Since the early 1950s Fairview has diligently worked to extend it’s current mission to magnify the Lord and invite neighbors to become part of the family. Today, Fairview Baptist stands as a testament to that legacy, a living example of faith passed down through generations.
In the spring of 2025, a couple of the pastors at Fairview Baptist Church discussed the desire to support a new church plant in the area as new growth is starting to come in to the Sherman and Grayson County community.

As new businesses boom, schools expand, and families settle, the spiritual needs of our community are growing too. With this growth comes opportunity and a calling to plant ahead of the wave ensuring that as Sherman and Grayson Country grows, so does the presence of Christ-centered community. 

This is not the start of something new as much as it is the continuation of a story God has been writing for generations in Grayson County.  This is the new chapter of gospel seeds being planted so that countless lives may be changed. We have been commissioned out to Live Sent!
